As scientists we conducted experiments with ice and melting this week. We had to predict which ice cube would melt the fastest, the water one, the one with salt sprinkled over it or the ice cube with sugar sprinkled on it. Then in our groups we conducted the experiment being careful to conduct a fair test. Our ice cubes had to all be the same size and we had to carefully measure out the same amount of sugar and salt.
We were very surprised to find out the salt covered ice cube melted first and it didn't take long at all to melt. We are not quite sure why this happened? That's what we will need to investigate further.
