The Gingerbread Test
Today we used everything we had been learning about floating and sinking to see if we could save the Gingerbread man from the river and fox. We designed a boat that would let the Gingerbread man get across the river without getting wet. We discovered that trapped air helps things float, light things are better at floating than some heavy things. We needed to think about the shape because high sides can help something float. After we had baked our Gingerbread man and made our boats we tested them out in the water. If our Gingerbread man did not get wet we got to eat him. What a fantastic time we had. Learning is so much fun!!
