Our Class Trip to the Ecodepot

Last Tuesday we braved a very cold and wet day to visit the local Ecodepot to explore where rubbish goes and make worm farms. We got to see the recycling drop off centre. We looked around and saw where the rubbish in the Red bins go. Then we saw one of the blue trucks that takes all the rubbish away to Kate Valley. We talked about the different ways that we can reduce the amount of rubbish in our Red bins at home. We learnt about compost worms (tiger worms)and how they can help us with our rubbish. Then we got to make our own worm farm. We had a really interesting morning, we learnt lots and had a great time.
